Many students are taking part in after-school tutoring(辅导). I’m afraid I can’t keep up with my studies if I don’t do the same. Should I try this myself?

It’s good that you want to improve your schoolwork. Every student should have this goal. You should do everything you can to raise your grades.

However, not every student studies the same way. Some people do prefer to have a one-on-one tutor. Others prefer to learn in groups. Some simply like to study on their own. The key is to find the way that works best for you.

I used to be pretty bad at math. I envied my classmates who went to tutoring and could easily solve problems. I joined them and had tutoring three times a week. My tutor gave me homework, just like our teachers in school. It made me feel really tired.

So after about two months, I decided to give up. I listened more carefully in class and started to work out problems on my own. By doing this many times, I learned that many problems had the same rules behind them. And now, personally, I’d rather just study on my own.

You should find the way that works best for you. Don’t just do what others do. Find your weakness and try to deal with it, whether you are tutored or self-taught.

46.What is the problem with Abai?

A.He has no tutors. B.He is afraid of tutoring.

C.He worries about his studies. D.He can’t study hard like others.

A.He did even worse in math. B.He had too much homework.

C.He could easily solve problems. D.He already knew the math rules.

    48.What suggestion does Mike make?

    A.Have a good tutor. B.Learn with others.

C.Study on his own. D.Find the best way.

ChatGPT, a smart AI chat-bot(聊天机器人) tool, has swept the education world in the past months. According to a US survey of more than 1000 students, over 89 percent of them have used ChatGPT to help with a homework assignment.

Developed by US company OpenAI, ChatGPT is a powerful tool. You can ask it to write stories and emails, create recipes(食谱), translate languages, and answer all kinds of questions.

Some schools in the US, Australia and France have banned (禁止) the use of ChatGPT. In the US, for example, New York City public schools banned students and teachers from using ChatGPT on the district’s networks and devices(设备).

The move comes out of worries that the tool could make it easier for students to cheat on assignments.

Some also worry that ChatGPT could be used to spread inaccurate(不确定的) information.

“It does not build critical-thinking(批判性思维) and problem-solving skills, which are necessary for academic(学术的) and lifelong success,” said Jenna Lyle, the deputy press secretary of the New York City Department of Education.

Apart from bans, teachers are making changes to their classes to block the use of ChatGPT. Some college teachers in the US try to include more speaking exams and handwritten on papers instead of typed ones.

However, not all educators say no to ChatGPT. Some Canadian universities are drafting(起草) policies on its use, for both students and teachers. They have no plans to completely ban the tool so far.

Bhaskar Vira, the headmaster at the University of Cambridge in the UK, said that bans on AI software like ChatGPT are not sensible(明智的). “We have to know that AI is a tool people will use,” he toldVarsity, the school newspaper of the university. What we need to do is “adapt(调整) our learning, teaching and examinations.” That way, we can “have integrity (诚信) while recognizing the use of the tool”.

57.Some schools in the US banned the use of ChatGPT because ________.

A.students may use it to cheat on homework B.it rarely provides correct information

C.it takes the place of teachers D.it takes up most of the district’s networks

59.What did the educators in the US do to avoid the use of ChatGPT?

    a. They blocked students’ access to the tool.

Age is such a factor in everyone’s life which brings lots of other problems and matters. We often face a lot of confusion(困惑) at a young age. There are some of the teenage problems which can arise at every stage of life and those we cannot share with anyone except few people. Let’s discuss these teenage problems.

    Uncertainty About Future

The problem which is most common among all the teenagers is to choose a right career after school. Youngsters often find it very hard to choose the right career path, so the parents and the teachers should advise them on the right career field. Parents can also choose to take their children to experts for suggestions and the counselors will advise them on the field according to their likes.

    Social Media

Social media networking is most commonly seen among young people. It is like an addiction(上瘾) of youngsters to spend long hours on laptops and smartphones using social media sites. These sites also post some improper content which do harm to youngsters. The parents should check the activities of their children on social media sites often and suggest the ways to use them less often.

    Academic Problems

Many students face problems during schoolwork and exams in schools and colleges. The parents look after the studies of their children. They should sit along with them before exams and help them work out their problems. If your children go to the coaching class then you should contact the teacher and ask him about the progress of your child in studies.

    Eating Disorders

The teenagers especially girls care more about their eating habits than guys. Because of the speedy life pattern and heavy studies and workloads, teenagers like junk food better which is quick to cook. It gives rise to many health problems such as constipation, indigestion, food poisoning, and many other disorders. I89, you should face it bravely, and work hard to find some better methods to h90you. Believe that your failure can be changed into success and put your effort into what you are doing. Then you can make greater progress.

Why do some people often d91about themselves and feel discouraged though they are able to do something? I think there are two main reasons. F92, these people don’t have a correct estimate (评估) of themselves. Second, they may take s93difficulties for big ones.

The word “success” itself has hundreds of definitions (定义). For some people it means power. For some people it means great achievement. For o94it is wealth (财富). I think it means achieving in one’s work, making contributions (共享) to the development of our country and bringing h95to people.
